Jaganath Gangaram Pednekar Jewellers Pvt. Ltd. was established in 1965 by Shri Jagganath Gangaram Pednekar. Born in a small village named Talawade near Ratnagiri in Maharashtra on 15th July 1939, Shri J. G. Pednekar always dreamt of achieving something extraordinary. In 1958 he came to Mumbai and took up a job as a goldsmith. His hard work paid off and he soon bough his own shop in 1965 at Dadar West, the heart of Mumbai.

Starting his own fledging business in a small 100 ft. sq. shop was a challenge for your Shri J. G. Pednekar. However, his dedication towards his work soon earned him the love and respect of his patrons. Over the years he slowly expanded his shop to occupy a large part of the building where the original shop first stood.

In 1993 he expanded his endeavor by adding a new shop, Anand Jagannath Pednekar Jewellers, at Ranade Road, Dadar (W). Over the years he lent his voice against the Gold Control Act and won the case single handedly. In 2007 he bought another shop close to the two other shops. By now Jaganath Gangaram Pednekar Jewellers Pvt. Ltd. was a well recognized jewellery brand in Dadar and the surrounding areas. Customers from as far as Thane and new Mumbai would especially travel down to Dadar to purchase their ornaments from Jaganath Gangaram Pednekar Jewellers. Taking a cue from growing market in Mumbai’s suburbs, Mr. Anand Pednekar, the dynamic son of Shri J. G. Pednekar, opened a new store at Vashi in 2009 and in Dombivali in 2011. Soon he plans to inaugurate another shop at Panvel in 2013.

Shri Jagganath Gangaram Pednekar was honored with many awards during his lifetime. Some of the significant ones are Udyog Shri, Udyog Ratna and Udyog Tirtha by the Government of Maharashtra. He received posthumously the Lifetime Achievement Award announced by GJF in 2010.

Jaganath Gangaram Pednekar Jewellers is now being ably led by Mr. Anand Pednekar and his wife Mrs. Asavari Pednekar. Together they are committed to giving shape to the dream of the founder. Today Jaganath Gangaram Pednekar Jewellers consists of a chain of 5 stores, each located at prime area.
